Brad and I have a favourite saying lately. It goes like this:
"I'm so tired".
But life is so good with everything getting greener and greener, the warmth, the flowers on the trees, the smells of spring, not having to bundle up, bike rides and parks and playing in the back yard.

Walking to church, couldn't help taking pictures because she was modelling for them :)

Breanna is so very good to her little sister. Now I need to tell you a bit about Afton. Her favourite word is "No" and she is feisty. Thank goodness Breanna has this incredible amount of patience because she just loves to mother and baby Afton and Afton loves to hit Breanna and say "no". Also thank goodness she's my third and I don't stress about it much. Even when Afton hits her I'm not sure it even occurs to Breanna to get mad or hit back. She just says "No Afton, don't hit!" and continues to play with her. Anyways, once in a while I catch glimpses of a sweet closeness between Breanna and Afton. Afton will just snuggle up to Breanna, she will let her put her in baskets and pretend to be baby Jesus, and she will hold her hand. In the above picture they sat like this for about 20 minutes eating apples together. AW!
Brad being tired and letting Afton watch videos while he sleeps. There is just no way to sleep when Afton is awake because she is a very curious child and if there is trouble to be found, she finds it!
Playing with play-dough-my kids can do this for literally hours.
This made me so happy. I got a book out from the library with all kinds of science experiments. Jesse loves science experiments and proactively works on them. This is why I would love to home school. I LIVE for this kind of thing! This is a good one: you put the balloon on the pop bottle and then watch what happens when you put it in hot or cold water :)
I love living near Fish Creek Park.
And I love living near a lake.
I've never had a kid who wasn't scared of water or going too deep. I thought last summer was hard with her eating sand and crawling around but I have a feeling I'll have to be on my toes this year. No sitting in lawn chairs for me!

I feel so blessed lately. Jesse is almost done school and has been stellar. They asked him to come do a little speech at the Mandarin Kindergarten orientation. He did so good. He also gets 100% on all his Mandarin spelling tests and he really does love it. I also get proud watching him play soccer. When he wants to he really shines. But a lot of the time he runs around being goofy haha. And despite a lot of hard work and some fights, we stuck with piano and he is having a recital on Saturday!
Breanna is finishing up preschool, is starting to read and is singing in the recital on Saturday. I can't wait to see her cuteness up there. She also plays soccer and we are so proud watching her play with all the kids bigger than her, but it is funny watching her run after the crowd of people then every once in a while trot off singing to herself :) She likes to follow me around and help out with housework (but only when Jesse's not there), colour, do her "workbook"and go to preschool.
A typical day in the life of Afton involves lots of running, jumping and throwing. She's so independent but thankfully is still pretty attached to Mama. She was jumping with both feet at 15 months and it's her favourite thing to do! She also likes to help mom unload the dishwasher (no really-she hands me the dishes one by one and I just have to stand there and put them away), wear shoes, (anybody's shoes), dress fancy, read books (one of her best words: "book"), give the cutest plump-lipped kisses and roar. Her favourite foods are avocados, pasta, cheese, apples, and oatmeal porridge. She eats her oatmeal with her hands, although she really does try to use her spoon, she just gets impatient. Then when she's finished whatever she's eating she makes the biggest possible mess she can make while strapped into her seat. She says sentences like "here you GO!" (with a very high-pitched go) and "what's that?" and "where's a bear?" etc. She tries to sing twinkle little star and it goes something like this "appa bappa bappa ba" (up above the world so high). It makes the kids laugh.
Brad is finished school in TWO WEEKS! WA-HOOO!
As for me, my foot is doing good, although still swollen it only hurts when I do lunges. It's the best feeling being back in good shape, I had to work pretty hard after my cast came off but I feel good now. I try to read, go on dates and watch TV when I can and otherwise can't imagine how any mom finds the time to do anything else but clean, cook, shower, eat, change diapers, etc. That is my life. I can't wait for my sister and family to come at the end of June and I hope the summer makes everything sloooooow down and I can keep up with my posts better. Good night!
