Weird

So I thought my blog design was one-of-a-kind and so cool (Brad found it, not me) and then I was going along looking at other blogs, I don't call it snooping and I'm not ashamed because it's the INTERNET for goodness sake, and I found THIS. Someone even says in the comments how popular it is. Oh well. I still like it. HUMPH!

Moonlight Run

Me and my sister Candace at the end
WELLL...I did it!!

I was tired all day today and felt like I hadn't slept well in days so I was really nervous! But I did it! It was 55:21. But let me tell you, there is a HUGE long hill at the end.

My mom came all the way from High River to watch me and my sister run it. It was my sister's first race (she did the 6k I did 10k). Brad sped from Calgary after the wedding he filmed to be there to cheer me and his little sister Melissa on.

The feeling after the race is like nothing else. I can't describe it, but I was so happy! It made absolutely everything worth it. It's like woe-I did that! I worked hard and I did it!

My life Update

I love this song. It's not my kind of song but I remember once standing inside Market Mall alone after work (in December no less) listening to this song come through the speakers and something about it rang true. Sometimes I get a bit nostalgic about my life as a young single adult. I was really forced to toughen up and gained a really solid testimony-not of "church" as I'm not sure I ever fit in the YSA scene at all, but of the gospel, because boy did I ever need my Heavenly Father in those years. And he was always right there with me. Anyway, this song reminds me of that and maybe of my life right now too.

I've enjoyed this winter, it's been a cold one but with lots of white snow, which I love.

Valentine's Day was good. We made cookies and Jesse could do everything.
He even cracks the eggs:
And rolls out the dough. They turned out as heart cookies with pink icing, but I'm sure you know what that looks like.

We went to Edmonton to go to the temple and visit some friends of ours (Casey & Clair pictured above) & Brad's sister who live there. We had such a nice time. I love the temple. I know so many people go there, but when I go I feel my worth, and it all seems so personal. I can't describe it. I told my friend how much I love being with her because I know that I can be myself and I never feel like she judges me or like she's mad at me or is going to go talking behind my back with somebody once I leave. I have a few friends like that, and when I say a few, I mean like 4. But at least I know for the REST of my life they are there for me!! That is a true friend, and I hope they know I'm that to them too!

We also went to the Edmonton Science center with my brother Derek and sister-in-law Melissa. They are both the most amazing people and really good with the kids. I know what you're thinking, they should date! But Melissa's dating my brother's roommate Tim, who's also really great.

This is my brother Derek showing Breanna bubbles.

Me and Melissa on the piano (not the greatest picture of her but she doesn't read this he he he...sorry Melissa-at least it shows she's a fun girl)

Then we had Jesse's birthday party. I prayed for a good idea because I wanted Jesse to have fun and he's not really an "organized fun" (like games and stuff) kid. So I came up with this brilliant idea to take Jesse and his two best friends (NO PARENTS) to the Science Center in Calgary (which by the way, is WAY better than the one in Edmonton and SO much fun), take them to McDonald's for lunch and then just have cake and ice cream with everyone else (Grandma & Grandpa Gough, the rest of the cousins, Candace and Dallas, and the parents) after lunch. It turned out to be SO much fun for the kids! They loved that they were going to a party all by themselves, especially Hunter who has lots of brothers and sisters. They got along good and there were no breakdowns. Here's pics of the party:

Everything Spiderman, cups, party blower things, plates, cake and all. Jesse loves Spiderman and knows the whole theme song but he's never even seen an episode. He's constantly wearing his "Spiderman pajamas" and will not take them off unless they get wet, and so I pray for them to get wet 'cause I'm so sick of seeing them! I was so happy when he actually wore the birthday clothes he got from Grandma Gough. Isn't he cute? You can also see the Spiderman bike we got him. We figured we'd be getting him a bike for summer anyway, so we sucked up the cash and killed 2 birds with one stone.

Jesse was so sweet he let everyone have a turn at blowing the candles.

Jesse and Hunter started a band...

He got tons of great loot!

Here we go again...
